People often tell you to ‘dance like no one is watching’ and, let’s be honest, most of the time nobody really is watching. It is your own imagination watching you from the outside – telling you that you look like a fool, trapping you in this place of self-consciousness. But we shouldn’t listen to that voice in our head, instead we should acknowledge how we feel in that moment; as muscles stretch, our heart rate quickens and air rushes past our limbs. That feeling of freedom – as free as the ocean. Next time you’re at the beach, or even just imagining it, I challenge you to dance to the sound of the waves, the smell of the salty air and let the sea set you free!

We don’t need reasons to smile
Joy is our true nature! Our smile is our outward expression of that nature. Being happy doesn’t mean everything is perfect, it means you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections and let the joy shine through.
La vie est plus belle quand on fait du yoga
In life we see so many beautiful things. We see stunning views on trips of a lifetime, incredible pieces of art and beautiful people (inside and out) but yoga gives us a window through which to see the everyday things in a new more beautifying hue and appreciate the beauty tenfold. ‘Beauty (as we all know) is in the eye of the beholder’.
A practice not a performance
We all see so many images of acrobatic yoga asanas being expertly demonstrated. But we must remember that yoga is a practice not a performance – it is about self-study, not just of the ability of the body but of the mind. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is just sit and be still. The real essence of yoga practice is totally unseen and cannot be captured by a camera. It will, however, be felt and experienced.
The mind is a mirror
To quieten the mind through the stillness of the body is to clean that mirror and allow the truest reflection of the self to be observed. We all perceive ourselves and the universe differently. ‘The tree which moves some to tears of joy is to others only a green thing that stands in the way’ William Blake.
